Sea-turtle nesting season is May 1 through October 31 each year, and Lahaina residents and staff comply with Florida Statutes to protect the endangered species.  To prevent turtle hatchlings from moving inland toward artificial lights instead of toward the safety of the water, Lahaina guests are asked to please close their blinds and to turn off or shield outdoor lights from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.  Also, please stack chairs behind the vegetation dune so they don’t become obstacles as the baby turtles crawl toward safety.  Thanks for helping us!
